Perched 80 m high, the Benedictine abbey - a spiritual high place - is part of the Way of Saint James. More than 20 rooms can be visited on your own, with a guide or an audio guide. Stroll through the narrow streets, the ramparts and in the small gardens to fully appreciate the place and admire the exceptional heritage including those present in the Grande Rue (main street). On site, a few restaurants will offer you the famous mussels and oysters of the Bay or the ‘’Agneau de pré-salé’’ (salt marsh lamb). The magic of Mont-Saint-Michel and its bay are revealed at sunset with the Norman colours and the contrasting landscapes surrounding you. 4 museums are to be visited on the rock: the ‘’Musée Maritime’’ to understand the phenomenon of the tides, the Archéoscope which retraces the history of the place and in particular the construction of the Abbey, the Logis Tiphaine (historical residence of the 14th century) and the ‘’Musée Historique’’.
